
As Aotearoa enters the next phase of its energy transition, the need to deliver new renewable electricity generation has never been more urgent.
Increased demand from the electrification of transport and industry, coupled with declining domestic gas supplies, dry-year hydro risk, and the need for affordable, secure energy, all point to one conclusion -New Zealand must accelerate the development of renewable energy, in particular wind energy.
This year's wind energy summit theme, "Accelerating Wind Farm Growth to Meet Our Future Energy Needs," reflects the critical role that wind will play in powering New Zealand's economic growth while strengthening energy security and reducing emissions.
